What a show season!

We spent this weekend at the American Red Cross Holiday Craft Show at the Kingston Armory. What a wonderful time we had. This year we expanded to double booths when possible and what a difference it makes. It allows our customers the opportunity to peruse our goods and an opportunity for us to spend time with them, which I love. This photo was taken at just after 9 am when the show opened. Tina is at the register and Angie was jockeying our cars out of the show's parking lot.  I couldn't have done this show without them!

We saw so many of our returning friends/customers, several who came out to the show just to visit us.  Thank you to all!  We have so much fun with our friends/customers and some heart moments too.  I feel so blessed that people have opened their hearts to our Friends, Emma and our mission. I love that people bring other people and share with them about what we do and why we do it. I heard it many times this weekend, people coming into the booth, bringing someone new to us and explaining Emma's Friends to them as they come in.  What a gift. What they don't see is my heart break and soar at the same time.  Breaking for their kindness and caring for our mission and soaring because they want to share it with their friends.

And then, there are the accolades for our goods, which is also humbling. Year over year, we hear people say they love our mission and to hear they love our products is wonderful. They say, "We love your mission and what you do and your products are just amazing." We've heard some wonderful stories of how our goods have been enjoyed and given. And to see the gift recipients come in then, and purchase for themselves. Lovely.

And so has been the story of our growth...  we are so grateful and thankful to all who have opened their hearts and stepped out to try our goods... and come back again and again. As we wind down the show season, with only two small shows left, I can't imagine what next year will hold for us. But... I can't wait to find out!

Thank you to all ...  hope to see some of you at the Valley County Club (private show for members) on Thursday and then at our season closer, Hawley's Winterfest on December 11th.  A great place to end the season... my hometown and a beautiful celebration of the holiday season.  Hawley's Winterfest is really a fantastic way to celebrate the season.

Be well, stay warm and look up!

Face It!  Our latest gift set just in time for Christmas.
Our Face It gift set includes our much loved Fancy Face, our all natural face wash made of sunflower oil, coconut oil, aloe and honey with a touch of honey and almond essential oil; Botanical Beauty, our jam-packed botanical extract face moisturizer which also has collagen, lactic acid and sunflower oil (a fantastic light molecule oil which can penetrate the skin which it loves so much); and ... introducing... our newest item in the Face Line: Sweet Cream Face Scrub!  All this wonderful goodness for $29.50 in a fantastic little gift box with a window and satin ribbon bow.  Lovely!

Our new Sweet Cream Face Scrub is made with a variety of milks (butter, goat and regular) as well as colloidal oatmeal, allatonin and sugar!  Well, yes, of course, sugar.  Everyone has fallen in love with our Sumptuous Sugar Scrub and for years we have been asked about a face scrub.  So... finally, it's out!

This yummy little gift set will be unveiled at the American Red Cross show at the Kingston Armory this weekend, Saturday (9 - 4) and Sunday (10 - 4).  Be sure to come by... we have MORE SURPRISES in store... or at least in the booth!  ;)

a year and a half hiatus from blogging, but hopefully we're back

It's hard to believe it could have been THAT long since I have used the blog, but unfortunately, the post dates don't lie.

We have really done a lot in that time, the blog is something of a time capsule in that regard.

Right now, we are in the throws of our show season and the response has been amazing. Thank you to all who have come out to see and shop with us. I hope you have found some wonderful new things as well as your faves from past seasons.

The Red Cross show is nearly upon us and we are really looking forward to the 20 x 10 space! We absolutely need it anymore although at some shows it's impossible to get more space. We appreciate your squeezing in with us in the smaller booths! And for those of you who take the time to circle around the show waiting for an opening in the booth... hopefully you won't have to do that this weekend. : )

More on the show later... we have some new gift sets we are bringing out and a new product too. This one has been on the request list for some time so hopefully everyone will be happily surprised to see it finally come out. I'll let the secret out of the bag a little later... promise.

Have a great Tuesday everyone.

What's new?

Well, we are preparing for our upcoming show season... there is much to do!

In addition to preparing our existing line of goods, we are introducing some new products too. We've been asked time and again about making certain items, and so, at long last, we will launch them. After working through different recipes and testing phases we will be releasing a facial care line of goods as well as a pet line too!

Stay tuned as we unveil these items both at shows and online. It's been a long time coming (some of you have been waiting well over a year ~ sorry!!! These things take time work work out to our liking! ;) and we're excited but not quite ready yet. Soon... promise! Things are curing and doing the things they need to do to be ready, but come Fall... they will be out.

Thanks for your requests, encouragement and patience as we continue to meet your needs for handcrafted, natural goodness. What a great job we have, huh?!?

More later... including our show schedule... hope to see you at our shows!

Best,
Lynn and all of Emma's Friends : )

Featured on another site...

Can you believe I failed to mention that one of our suppliers, Nashville Wraps, called to see if they could use some of our gift photos to showcase their products. Well... SURE! ;)

We are one of only a few bath/body makers featured on their Flicker site. It was quite an honor... and surprise!... to get the call. Lovely.

So, here are the links to our goods, featured by them:

Lost in a sea of... SOAP!

Remember me? ;) It's been some time, I know... Last time I believe I shared with you that we are providing toiletries to Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort's 100 guest rooms.... it has been an awesome adventure and really kept us quite busy. I'm blaming my absence on the blog on that. ;)

Add to that The Spa at Shawnee is now using our goods as well. So in addition to the hotel guests experiencing our goods, guests at the Spa (don't we all wish we were currently guests at the Spa?!?!?) will as well. Ahhhh.... a massage, facial, manicure, pedicure... who wouldn't want to be there?!?! Guess I'll live vicariously through our products. * grin *

It was my sister's birthday earlier this month and I have to say, we had a lovely afternoon at Shawnee celebrating it. My nephews joined Emma, Lori (my sister) and I in the River Room and had a great lunch. We then "retired," well as much as you can retire with three boys and one Emma, to the veranda and had the most creamy, wonderful ice cream. I consider myself quite an ice cream connoisseur, so to say that it was wonderful means it was a pretty yummy ice cream. So much so that I actually asked the brand... Blue Bunny. Yum-O!

It happened to be one of the only beautiful days we have had in some time in Northeast PA, what a blessing to have the sun shining and spend a relaxing, yummy day with my family.

Turns out that Emma is something of a celebrity at Shawnee... not that she would take advantage of such a position. ROFLOL! So long as the ice cream keeps coming, there is a soft breeze blowing and Veggie Tales playing on her DVD, life is good by Emma. Oh, yes, and of course, having her cousins and aunt doting on her... that helped too. ;)

But, I do owe you a bit more on Emma, don't I? The poll results show that you are a bit curious about our sweet girl, and so, I shall share. But, not tonight... no tonight I think I'll just have sweet dreams of ice cream and verandas and family...

Till then,
Lynn

Well! Look at how time has flown without a post from Mio! Forgive me!!!

I just let the cat out of the bag on the site...

Emma's Friends soaps, lotions and shampoos are going to be in each guest room at Shawnee Inn and Golf Resorts. Um...YEAH!

This has been in the works for months, but we are approaching the delivery date of our first round of monthly goods at the end of this week. That might help explain why I've been a little MIA for the last few months. Ramping up to fill 100 guest rooms with two bars of soap, a lotion and shampoo for the daily guests at Shawnee as been something of a task.

But, you should see our Friends! They are awesome!!! We have had as many as 20 at a time wrapping soaps - what a site! Need to take picts, I know, I know!

They have also mastered our new labeling machine and are working on their technique on our amazing filling machine. It has four heads which dive down into the bottles to fill each one with either lotion or shampoo. A company in North Carolina custom built it for us and recently delivered and installed it. It has been quite a learning curve to go from hand filling and labeling to using the filling machine. With the compressor and switches, timers for filling and other variable settings to manage, it's been keeping us busy. But, we are filling fools now! : )

So, while I have been absent from the blog and other social encounters, it's not because we've been lollygagging.

Okay, back to it... we've got a busy summer ahead! Thanks Shawnee and general manager Rob Howell for believing in us...

Best,
Lynn
